The butterfly sits at the top of the bar, above the navel. Its upper wings are two marquise-cut diamonds, its lower wings two round diamonds, and its body and antennae are worked in beaded gold rather than set with stones — which is what gives the insect its shape at this scale. The bar then curves down to a polished gold ball set with a single round diamond, and it is that lower stone which is offered in three sizes. The Gemstone Heart Belly Button sets a heart-cut coloured stone in the navel and a white diamond above it, on approx. 1.00 g to 1.15 g of solid 18K gold (750 hallmark), in yellow, rose or white gold, with a certificate of authenticity.
The two stones sit either side of the piercing and are set in opposite ways. The 0.10 ct white diamond rests above the navel, closed in a rim of gold the whole way round. The coloured heart sits in the navel itself, held by claws — two on the lobes and a finer one at the point — and mounted point downward, so the lobes read uppermost. Claws leave the stone open at its edges, which is what lets light through a coloured gem rather than around it.

The three marquises are claw-set and fan upward, their points meeting at the base so the stones open like petals. Below them, a single small diamond is closed in a rim of gold and hangs from a ring, so it swings with movement — the only moving element in the navel collection, where every other piece is rigid. The bar then curves down to a four-claw round diamond that sits in the navel.
