Helix Earrings in Solid 18K Gold

A helix piercing sits in the upper cartilage, so the earring has to be small, light and secure: ours are studs on threaded posts that screw closed, and small hoops, all in solid 18K gold (750 hallmark) with certified diamonds, made in our own Dubai atelier. Solid gold is hypoallergenic and does not irritate cartilage the way plated metal can. Sold singly, in yellow, white or rose gold, with certificate of authenticity, free insured express shipping and a five-year warranty.

Helix studs

The Solitaire Stud sets a single 0.11 ct diamond on 0.75 g of gold; the Marquise Classic follows the curve of the ear with a 0.25 ct marquise; the Trilogy lines up three diamonds, the Marquise Triplet groups three marquise cuts, and the Butterfly, Flower and Milky Way studs add a motif. Weights run from 0.40 g to 0.95 g of gold, so nothing pulls on the cartilage.

Helix hoops

For a hoop through the helix, the Full Diamond Hoop at 6.5 mm sits snug to the ear; the Eternity Hoop at 8 mm and the Positano Hoop give a little more room. All close with a hinge or threaded fitting rather than a butterfly back.

Frequently asked questions

What size is a helix earring?

Most helix studs use a short post of about 6 mm; hoops are usually 6 to 8 mm in inner diameter. Measure from the piercing hole to the edge of the ear and add about 1 mm for a hoop.

Can I wear a helix earring in a fresh piercing?

Cartilage takes 6 to 12 months to heal fully. Keep the piercer's initial jewellery until it has healed, then change to solid gold.

Are helix earrings sold as a pair?

No, singly: a helix is usually worn on one ear, or mixed with different studs along the same ear.

Is 18K gold better than 14K for cartilage?

Both are suitable if solid; 18K has more gold and less alloy, so it is the gentler choice for skin that reacts to metals, and it is what every Aquae piercing is made of.
